Poker is a game full of surprises and despite the great style and smart moves of a shark, is simply inevitable to suffer some hard luck hits which strike directly and when one less expects it.
Some cases have happened at the Online Poker World Championship: the current runner-up Mariusz A.K.A. “Dzioobdzioob” couldn’t escape the variance and received his cut of 0 points after playing 7 Sit n’ Go tournaments. The Polish grinder had been harvesting units for his personal score at a very steady rhythm crossing the 200 points mark and getting closer to the flaming leader “OPWCmaltaman” but it seems like he’s to figure the way out the downswing before he continues walking the winning path.
There are several cases but a bit more severe at the bottom of the ranking where 15 players from different nationalities still haven’t been able to gather a single unit. Hard luck, bad beats, bad cards… who knows… the point is they need to come out of the dark side and start making moves towards the top if they really want to take a shot at the World Title and the huge sponsorship deals up for grabs.
