The Online Poker World Championship, often simply called the OPWC, is an international Poker Competition
between Online Poker Players who are registered on the official Website. The Championship has been awarded every
year since its World Premiere in 2025. The Current Format of the Championship offers the possibility to take a shot at the
World Championship Title to every online poker player on the planet, without moving from their homes. The Poker World Champion is crowned
each year during the OPWC Main Event where only the best Poker Players of each Continental Team
are able to battle for the World Championship Title and a Pro Poker Sponsoring Contract
of up to $100000 . The Qualification Phase to the main event comprises 6 Periods which are run during the
year and are used to determine which Players will represent their continental Team and have a seat in the OPWC Main Event.
The OPWC tracks the results obtained by players during Sit & Go and Multi Table Sit & Go tournaments played in any of the connected
poker rooms. Based on that information and OPWC Structure the individual scores
and the general ranking are established. Thanks to the process mentioned above, the world’s best poker players are identified and the online
poker world champion is crowned at the end of each season
The automated system comprises four components:
- Periods (time frame to earn points for your ranking)
- Period Finals (special tournaments for the best players of a period)
- Eliminations (the winners of these heads-up tournaments earn a seat in their Continental Teams)
- OPWC Main Event (Tournament Series – for the Best Poker Players)
