It’s official!!! The 4th period of the Online Poker World Championship has had the toughest start of the season. There are 150 participants trying to take the available tickets for the Eliminations but only 4 will be able to get them and take a shot at the amazing $10.000 poker sponsorships. The competition has been so hard that every single player on Top 10 has made more than 120 points; this stands a serious challenge for those who want to call themselves “Kings or Queens” of the World Championship.
Germany proudly holds the first position thanks to “RoyalJoker” a poker enthusiast from Munich who dedicates his leisure time to the game and the thrilling sensations the OPWC injects in it. He reached 228 units some days ago and that score has been enough to keep the competitors behind and secure the crown for his country one more week. With the notable improvements made by the opposition, some people dare to speculate the “RoyalJoker” might lose his privileges in the coming days, but when we talk about poker there’s no final word until the river is dealt.
One of the most prominent contenders at the moment is Danielle aka “Alisje” the lady from Netherlands who hasn’t stop climbing the poker ranking since she joined the competition. Now she counts 183 points in her individual score and maintains the 4th spot with strong discipline; given the case “OPWCmaltaman” the current third place of the leaderboard didn’t make more points during the next days she could be also taking him down and getting closer to the summit. Let’s see if the “girl’s power” is enough to boost this OPWC queen to the latest step of the raw online poker championship.
On the 5th position and making points daily we find Jonas Waker from Sweden, better known as “Waker66” winner of the last $500 Period Final who managed to take home a juicy $250 prize. The Swedish shark has been battling for his position versus “Alisje” and sometimes against “DhernandezQ” but has left the last 15 units behind and now is focusing his attacks on the skillful woman. Both Netherlands and Sweden have great chances to finish deep when this phase ends thanks to the remarkable performance of their competitors.
The winner of the third period “Kevster102” has been displaced two positions back and now he stands 6th on the scoreboard. We all know he’s capable of making a lot of points during critical stages of the competition so there’s a lot of expectation about what his next move is going to be. With almost 180 points he still has plenty of opportunities to take down the whole competition if the games go as he plans.
Team Asia-Africa-Australia is still the powerful runner up and “EnglishTim” is the one in charge of the leadership. Taking the throne where Europeans are sitting now is his main target, whether he hits it or not won’t change the fact the competitors and poker fans will respect him for his fast pace and determination.
Stay tuned for another exciting release of the poker action here, at the OPWC.
