Another weekend approaches and the players hurry to the tables after one long streak of work days. The Online Poker World Championship has had several variations in the poker ranking but the lead is still in the hands of the Germans thanks to Robert Kocher aka “Royaljoker” who has been building a powerful individual score that has touched the 228 units. Nonetheless Lady Luck has not been around all the time, proof of that is the dry poker session the competitors had during the last update of the whole system where only 4 points were collected in the last 10 games.

The Team Africa-Asia-Australia has claimed the second place of the Continental battle with a good-looking score of 195, but no final words can be said until the timer marks the end. The Aussie player Tim Beusmans known at the tables of PKR as “EnglishTim” managed to partially defeat the rivals in the middle to become the current challenger for the crown of the OPWC during the 4th period. Whether he snatches the power from the German or just continues in the runner up place totally depends on his results during the last games he has left; maybe he a lot more, maybe not; time will say as Tim is the only one who knows exactly how achievable is the goal to become the 4th period ruler.
Two European regulars who have the fans used to see their names on top of the poker ranking are Chris “OPWCMaltaman” and Kevin “Kevster102” are running hot once again during this phase of the international poker competition holding the third and fourth places respectively. These two gladiators will surely try to make it to the summit in the coming days so the race definitely promises to be a boom when they decide to make a move. With their presence so high in the ladder the European Team gains a lot more prestige and preserve the reputation they have built so far in the OPWC.
One of the surprises of the running period is the Bulgarian grinder Ivelin aka “Omnamashivaya” who has crossed the mark of 140 units and still looks strong enough to build an even higher total. He can be found at the 10-man and 6-man Sit n’ Go tourneys of our accepted poker room PKR. A curious fact is that this enigmatic player’s biggest cash ascents to more than $7000 which let everybody notice he’s not just any competitor; the Bulgarian shark might show his sharp teeth in the coming days and those who are not ready might as well suffer the consequences.
Improving a lot, compared to the last time the News Team mentioned her, Danielle Van Elst aka “Alisje” has climbed to the 6th position of the list leaving behind early 4th period racers like the Colombian “dhernandezq” and the Polish “Arturros17” given they seem to be in mode “pause”. The lady from Netherlands has made her land proud with a great performance which still has potential to become a record. Will she be up to the challenge of the Top 5 poker players of the current phase at the OPWC?
The first nine players of the poker ranking have crossed the 100 point barrier and the only player who still hasn’t done it on the Top 10 will soon fix that given he has already collected more than 90 units; the German Mark Fiedler known inside the competition as “Erdium” is one of the favorites to claim the first place of his continent by the end of the present stage given he just lost the previous by one single point. He can be found at the tables of Winner Poker, where thanks to the poker sponsorship he has the opportunity to keep on fighting for the crown.
Stay tuned for a new release of the poker action around the planet here at the OPWC
