Sometimes depending on the readings you have of the opponents you might want to try a different approach, but the regular line is to hit them before they hit you.
The preservation instinct flourishes in poker as it does in real life, but in The Game there are moments when you have to get rid of those feelings to make the right bet and maximize the value we can get from our hands. That way you are going to get the most when you win and will lose the least when your rivals have the nuts.

The key is to analyze the odds; when they are against you, don’t risk your stack; but if you find them favorable go ahead and bet. You will be proud when after a descent time crushing the tables with your tight style and aggressive moves your bankroll grows larger than you ever expected.

Remember that a poker player has to be unreadable, so from time to time, loose your ranges a little to confuse the competitors and keep them guessing. The fewer contenders you have at the table the more you can allow yourself to play weaker holdings.
