The News Team had the pleasure to talk with the current owner of the Period II 3rd spot, a funny and smart player representing Poland

Hello Mariusz and welcome to Meet The Sharks. We want to congratulate you for running third this period and still have chances to become a qualifier for Team Europe. Please tell us How did you start playing poker? how was the beginning of your poker career?

I started to play something about 3 years ago. Didn’t know much about poker. The only poker game I knew was 5 card single draw. And was quite surprised how many different poker games people play. I tried 7 card stud, but moved quickly to hold’em. I lost all my first deposit of course. Kind of fast, lol, as I played nl100 ;) You, know, it was decent amounts on the table, and there’s no fun playing for pennies ;).

I was shark’s food. After that I began to read about poker and learn how to play. I was curious about what I did wrong. Eventually I have learned and managed to get my money back :D

What are your goals playing poker?

Winning some bracelets, lol. Well, honestly I don’t have any spectacular goals. I wanna play my best game, have fun out of it and make a little more chips day after day :)

How did you come to the OPWC?

I found it on Facebook. I'm kind of new at FB and was looking around for anything related to poker.

What do you like about the OPWC?

It spiced up my games a little. It motivates me to keep playing good poker. It’s a nice idea to be in some sort of league because you need to be solid all the time. Single shots don't mean much. Oh, and I like 200 games cap. It’s something that even a recreational player can do. Regulars need to play good rather than play a lot, as they usually do.

What are your expectations in the World Championship and how do you see the rivals?

My expectations are clear: to be inside the sponsored team. I see Europe as the strongest faction here at OPWC. It makes more difficult to get into the Europe team, but then again, our team will be the best and will crush opponents from different continents in the finals :) With or without me, you'll see. Vamoooos Europe! :D

Any special anecdote about your nicknames on the tables?

Hmm… it’s a title of a children’s song my son likes. And they sang "Did you saw the dzioobdzioob, how the dzioobdzioob looks like?" It’s quite ok nickname for online player ;)

How do you make it to climb at that pace, any special technique?

Just be solid. Do not gamble if you have another option. Pretty simple :)

On which of the accepted poker rooms can we find you and what tourneys do you usually play?

I play on Lotos Poker. In my first 200 games (still have few left) I played all of SNGs available excluding HU. But I will change my tactics in a second 200 games for sure.
