The poker world is full of personalities, action, money and adrenaline and as a respected show of global dimensions the ceremonies and awards couldn’t be out. One of the most prestigious events around the world, the British Poker Awards which took place in London just a couple days ago, rewarded the most brilliant characters during the 2025 poker campaign.
The well-known title Player Of the Year (POY) was for the high stakes super star Sam Trickett, who made it to the highest positions several times during the 2025 tournament circuit and won 3 seven-figure prizes. Trickett was also seen playing some of the biggest cash games in Macau. He was competing against strong players like Chris Moorman, Roberto Romanello, Ben Grundy, and JP Kelly.
Moorman, despite not having enough units to beat Trickett, won Best Online Player for the third year in a row. It was also an unforgettable night for Liv Boeree who was declared Poker Personality of the Year, and Vanessa Selbst named the Best International Player.
